It is important to document the injury as soon after the accident as practical. I am not advocating running to the hospital or doctor's office if you are not in pain. What I am suggesting is, if you are having pain and discomfort after the accident seek treatment. The benefits are two fold. One of course, you are receiving needed treatment. Also, you are documenting the injury. Each time you see the doctor a report of the visit is made which outlines, your complaints, the doctor's observations and the doctor's treatment recommendations. Missed appointment with out explanation can have a detrimental impact on the case. These missed appointments always result in defense counsel arguing, if they were hurt they would not have missed so many appointments. Always be complete and thorough when outlining for the doctor where it hurts. |
